Employee Relations & HR Compliance Manager – Employment Practices is a key role focused on the company’s adherence to employment practices, labor laws and regulations throughout the U.S. and Canada in supporting a workplace culture where employees are valued and heard. This role will build and maintain a comprehensive view of the HR compliance and employee relations landscape related to ER investigations and compliance reporting.
Unifi Aviation is seeking an engaging and productive Employee Relations and Compliance Manager to join our Human Resources team. Duties include frequent interaction with directors, managers, and supervisors to resolve complex issues related to employee concerns, inclusion programs, and other employment practices concerns. Fostering trust and building reliable relationships to ensure employees have access to a convenient channel to raise concerns is an ongoing expectation of the role.
Key job responsibilities:
- Apply employee relations expertise to successfully identify trends, gaps, and challenges; execute solution-focused strategies and programs to mitigate risks.
- Prepare reports and documentation for management and regulatory agencies, staying updated on changes to labor laws and compliance reporting requirements.
- Foster a culture of positive employee relations by proactively addressing potential issues, promoting a collaborative workplace through transparent and honest communications, and advising on issues in the most appropriate way.
- Identify opportunities and analyze outcomes of investigations to determine root cause and assist HR and the business with addressing drivers, implementing change management, and limiting risk.
- Assist with development and revision of HR policies that support compliance, align with Company standards, and support HR topics at the operational business level.
- Create content to support HR Business Partners and leaders with interpreting and managing within the guardrails of policies, procedures, practices, and the law.
- Build constructive relationships with stakeholders to share information and influence change, as warranted to support an evolving organization.
- Work collaborative, as well as independently with minimal supervision, in ambiguous situations, and persevere over internal and external barriers to drive resolutions.
- Participate in projects and committees related to HR compliance processes to ensure consistency and compliance across states and business entities.
- Manage and/or prepare timely submission of state and federal compliance reports, as required.
- Maintain knowledge of employment legislation and collaborate with key stakeholders to recommend changes to support compliance needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major course work in human resources or business administration, organizational development, or a related field of study.
- 5-10 years of employee relations and compliance reporting experience required; multi-state and international experience preferred.
- Professional Human Resources certification (PHR) or applicable HR accreditation strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting HR compliance with a large nonexempt population, aviation environment is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading complex employee relations investigations and ensuring HR compliance in rapidly growing organizations.
- Demonstrate experience in managing HR projects and programs.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national laws and regulations related to employment.
- Familiarity with key government agencies in HR compliance and employee relations domains, with the ability to educate internal teams on relevancy and make applicable recommendations (FMLA, ADA, OFCCP, DOL, EEOC, etc.)
- ER case management knowledge and experience (Ethico or EthicsPoint)
- HRIS experience with UKG system
- Detail oriented and analytical with the demonstrated ability to perform work with high degree of accuracy.
- Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence individuals at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously, with a strong ability to work under pressure, prioritize, organize, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, (Microsoft Office 365), TEAMS
This position may allow flexibility to work in office and/or remote, depending on the geographical area of the selected candidate. The role will require moderate to frequent travel.
