Requirements and Description

The Tax Director will oversee the tax function, including tax compliance, planning, reporting, strategy, and risk management. This position will report directly to the VP of Tax and will be based out of our headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all US income tax- indirect taxes, federal, SALT.

• Manage relationships with foreign tax advisors (UK, India, Canada, etc.)

• Ensure tax compliance, covering registrations, remittances, and analysis, while overseeing business registrations.

• Oversee the annual and quarterly tax provision process.

• Manage a team of analysts in the US and India.

• Develop tax strategies that will maximize Unifi’s tax position and tax efficiencies on both a federal and state level.

• Responding to federal, state and local tax notices and managing federal, state and local tax audits and examinations.

• Develop and maintain various tax analytics to provide insight into future tax and compliance projections for use in budgeting, strategy, and cash flow planning

• Advise on proper structure of legal entities and intercompany activity, while overseeing compliance with transfer pricing

• Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations, rulings, court cases, etc., determining the impact of exposure.

• Providing tax advice on key business & corporate initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA and/or MST

• 10+ years relevant tax experience, in public accounting or industry

• Significant practical experience in US tax, US international tax and US Tax Reform matters.

• Ability to identify, research and propose resolutions on tax issues

• Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills, including ability to prioritize

• Detailed oriented, with proven ability to drive projects to fruition

• Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solver

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

• Management of external providers

• Ability to develop, as well as implement, a strategic vision
