Job Summary:

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing ground operations to ensure all activities on the ramp are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all standard operating procedures and applicable regulations. They monitor aircraft servicing, baggage handling, and equipment movement while enforcing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and addressing hazards. The role also involves investigating incidents and promoting a strong safety culture among ramp personnel.

Job Duties:

· Supervises and coordinates daily activities of employees to ensure safe and effective operations.

· Monitors and enforces safe working habits, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.

· Enforces Company policies and procedures, including disciplinary action, and promotes Unifi policies on Equal Employment Opportunity, Professional Conduct, and diversity initiatives and investigates and responds to employee relations issues in a timely manner.

· Communicates with Safety Manager concerning any problems or issues.

· Schedules and conduct safety meetings and observations.

· Supports incident investigation, corrective action planning, and standard operating procedure adherence.

· Drafting and delivering temporary modified work agreements and support employee injury management.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Must be able to obtain a fully cleared Restricted Area Identification Card.

· Must be able to obtain a YYC D/A AVOP.

· Possess a valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

· One + year of experience in aviation ground operations.

· Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

Physical requirements:

· Must be able to frequently lift, greater than 70lbs and constantly lift up to 70 lbs; Constantly push, pull up to 70 lbs; and constantly walk, stand, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, stoop, squat, kneel, & bend.

Working conditions:

· Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.

· Must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements.
