Requirements and Description

Responsibilities Ensures proper conveyances set up to sort and distribute incoming bags. Reads and verifies the city and flight number for every bag to ensure correct loading of customer bags. Organizes and prioritizes baggage load for delivery to the proper aircraft for loading. Ensures compliance with all TSA, DOT, FAA, OSHA safety rules, regulations, and applicable laws. Accepts responsibility for the safety of the scanner and associated equipment. Scans each bag as it arrives at the bag room. Forwards and receives bags to/from TSA for processing. Ensures appropriate attention is paid to priority items. Handles customer interaction in an efficient, effective, and professional manner. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position. Qualifications Must be a local (in-state) resident. High School diploma or GED. Valid In-State Driver?s License. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security. Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more regularly and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
